Bill Skarsgard Says IT: Chapter Two Will Be A Very Different Experience

Once 2017’s glimpse into the humble lives of Derry’s residents proved to be a box office juggernaut, it only made sense that studios scramble to get the next adaptation of a story penned by Stephen King up on the big screen, chief among which will be IT: Chapter Two. After all, why not keep that ball rolling with the omniscient clown that started the current craze?

Of course, we knew that the next installment was a sure thing, but we still appreciate reassurance along the way. And as you may have heard, key pieces of the puzzle are already falling into place, what with Andy Muschietti returning to directthe kids from the first flick coming back in some capacity, along with the likes of Andy Bean, Jay Ryan and James Ransone having signed up to play some of their adult counterparts.

So, while we imagine that moviegoers can’t wait to see how the grownup Losers’ Club will factor into things, it stands to reason that Pennywise himself will still be everyone’s main motivation for buying tickets.

Perhaps knowing this, the one and only Bill Skarsgard is starting to get back into the headspace of his character and maybe even practicing that wicked smile in front of the mirror. Here’s what he recently had to say to Den of Geek regarding preparation:

“We’re gearing up for it now, so I’m sort of in the process of getting back into that character of Pennywise. I’m sort of in the mindset and we’re gearing up for it. I think they start in July. I’m not sure exactly when my start date is, but some time this summer.”

Naturally, he’s also going to have to somewhat change the way he interacts with the rest of the cast, in addition to how he reacts, something else Skarsgard clued us in on:

“I’m really looking forward to it. It’s going to be a very different experience this time around, just given the fact that you have all of these incredible, seasoned actors to play against, as opposed to having all the kids. So it’s going to be a different experience for sure. But I’m looking forward to it.”

Obviously, IT: Chapter Two will be a different experience for actors and audiences alike, but with Muschietti still at the helm, we’re willing to guess that the winning formula will be found yet again.
