After all, the world ‘legacy’ is right there in the title, and it makes total sense for His Airness to drop by and endorse both the sequel to the 1996 original and his on-court successor as the NBA’s most marketable asset. It would hardly be a question of money either, seeing as Jordan’s estimated net worth soared past $2 billion last year, but as of yet there aren’t any guarantees that he’s been locked in.

That being said, Don Cheadle did say we were getting a Michael Jordan cameo, just not in the way we were expecting. The actor’s vague and mysterious tidbit was followed up by talk that Michael B. Last we heard, the two hadn’t even met each other properly yet, and that might still be the case depending on what stage of the narrative each Michael Jordan appears when the film hits theaters and HBO Max on Friday.
