The MCU recently revealed its newest power player, and it looks as if she’s about to become Thanos’ worst nightmare.
Her name? Carol Danvers, better known to you, I and the Kree people as Captain Marvel, future savior of planet Earth and the Avengers’ best hope to put an end to the Mad Titan once and for all. Indeed, it’s nigh on certain that Brie Larson’s fan favorite hero will help level the playing field when she joins the gang next week in Avengers: Endgame, and according to the actress, Carol’s going to be stronger than ever when we see her again on the big screen.
Speaking in a recent interview to promote the film, here’s what Larson shared:
“Carol is stronger than ever. More embodied than ever. She’s been learning how to do stuff for however long that we haven’t seen her between her origin story and now, and she’s ready. She’s matured and the team needs her.”
Understandably, Captain Marvel’s incredible abilities have been a cause for concern among some fans, who wonder how Endgame will be able to maintain its stakes with such a powerful hero running around the battlefield. It’s a fair worry, but the Russo Brothers recently discussed the issue in an interview with CinemaBlend and explained that one of the most enjoyable parts of working with all the various characters is finding out how they’re vulnerable.
Indeed, this is hardly an issue that’s exclusive to just Carol, as superheroes in general are exceptionally powerful people, and yet the MCU always find ways to even the playing field and keep the stakes right where they need to be. And it looks like the Russo Brothers hope to keep this tradition going next week, when Avengers: Endgame touches down in theaters and destroys the box office in the process.
