BTS Photos provide a better look at the biggest cameo in ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’

This is how Sony Pictures brought that one cameo to life in 'Across the Spider-Verse.'

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse features cameo appearances and easter eggs from all over the Spider-Man franchise. Three weeks following the film’s release in theaters, behind-the-scenes photos of one of the biggest cameos in the film have been unveiled.

Across the Spider-Verse producer Christopher Miller shared photos on Twitter of the day they shot Donald Glover‘s cameo as the live-action Uncle Aaron (aka The Prowler). In the film, Glover’s character is seen in prison inside the Spider-Society, waiting to see what happens to him. Miles sees this Prowler variant but he doesn’t seem to recognize him. Miller claims that it was a fun day shooting with the actor on this small green screen set and encourages fans to see the film while they still can.

Fans praised Miller for bringing Glover back for another Spider-Man movie after his first appearance in Spider-Man: Homecoming. They believed that his appearance in the MCU was a waste of his talents and they have their fingers crossed that this cameo would make its way to the live-action Miles Morales movie or a future MCU title.

Glover’s appearance in Across the Spider-Verse is one of the many cameo appearances in the film. The movie also showed off archive clips from previous Spider-Man films and references events in Spider-Man: No Way Home. The film is the first sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, with a third installment scheduled to be released in 2024.

If you want to see Childish Gambino’s short appearance in this Spider-Man film, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is now showing in theaters.
