With little under a fortnight to go until its release, Universal Pictures (via EW) has unveiled the all-new teaser for Angelina Jolie’s marital drama, By The Sea.

Acting as Jolie’s directorial follow-up to last year’s sprawling wartime drama Unbroken, the actress-cum-director is swapping the grand spectacle of WWII for a more personal and intimate tale. Stepping into the shoes of the troubled, borderline depressed Vanessa, Jolie’s lead character is stuck in a loveless marriage with Brad Pitt’s volatile Roland. In an effort to heal the wounds of their fallout, the two elope to a picture-perfect seaside resort in the south of France, but as today’s trailer reveals, there’s trouble in paradise.

Struggling to keep their heads above water, it doesn’t take long before Pitt and Jolie’s characters are facing their persona demons head on, and how they choose to deal with those issues will largely shape the course of the story. Written and directed by Jolie, there’s no question that By The Sea is acting as something of a passion project for the star, and though their gravitas as a Hollywood power couple may prove distracting for some, today’s clip takes the necessary steps to show the raw and heartfelt performances by its two leading players. Whether that is true of the entire feature, though, will be told in time.

Angelina Jolie’s sophomore effort By The Sea is headed to theaters on November 13, and you can catch the final trailer using the player below.

By the Sea follows an American writer named Roland (Pitt) and his wife, Vanessa (Jolie), who arrive in a tranquil and picturesque seaside resort in 1970s France, their marriage in apparent crisis. As they spend time with fellow travelers, including young newlyweds Lea (Laurent) and François (Poupaud) and village locals Michel (Arestrup) and Patrice (Bohringer), the couple begins to come to terms with unresolved issues in their own lives.
