Captain Marvel 2 Rumored To Fly Into Theaters In May 2022

Take this with a grain of salt, but a new rumor says Captain Marvel 2 will be with us on May 6th, 2022. Are you ready for the return of Carol Danvers?

Though Captain Marvel 2 has yet to be formally announced, the first film’s triumphant box office run should make a convincing enough case for Marvel Studios to officially move forward with sequel plans. In fact, in a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, head honcho Kevin Feige even dropped a few hints about Carol Danvers’ next solo adventure.

The Marvel Studios President has teased many times now that Captain Marvel may have more stories to tell between the events of her solo debut and her arrival twenty-plus years later at the Avengers Compound. And while speaking with ET in the aforementioned interview, Feige reminded us that the character’s immediate future is still more or less a blank canvas:

“Well, we don’t know what she did, right? She said she was going to and she went flying off at the end, and then we jump many years into the future. What happened in that intervening time, I think, is something that would be a lot of fun to explore at some point.”

Naturally, Feige isn’t offering any definitive answers on anything at the moment, and it seems like that won’t change for a little while yet, as Captain Marvel 2 isn’t set to be with us until 2022. At least, that’s according to a new rumor, which says the sequel will fly into theaters on May 6th, 2022.

We advise you take this with a grain of salt, as again, nothing about Carol Danvers’ second solo outing has been confirmed just yet. That being said, it’s important to remember that that date, May 6th, 2022, is indeed official. We know that there will 100% be a Marvel movie released at that time, we just don’t know which one it’ll be.

If you start to narrow down the options though, Captain Marvel 2 certainly seems like a pretty good bet. Especially since the studio would be wise not to make audiences wait too long for their next dose of Brie Larson’s heroine. But again, this remains filed strictly in the rumor cabinet for now, until we get some kind of official announcement from Marvel.
