The actress posted an image of herself having a glass of champagne and getting stuck into some relevant reading material – Captain Marvel: Higher, Further, Faster, More, the trade paperback of the acclaimed first arc from writer Kelly Sue DeConnick. The comic seems to be an important influence on the movie, too, as Brie Larson previously shared a similar photo of the graphic novel.

Alongside the pic, which you can see below, Lynch wrote: “Issa wrap on @captainmarvel! Boom! See you in the MCU March 2019!”

It’s yet to be officially revealed who the actress is playing in the film, but fans have got a pretty solid idea all the same. It’s a fact that she replaced DeWanda Wise on Captain Marvel when the latter had to pull out due to a scheduling conflict. When Wise was cast, it was heavily rumored that she was portraying Monica Rambeau, another heroine from the Marvel comics universe who’s also taken on the mantle of Captain Marvel in the past. This theory only got more convincing when filming moved to New Orleans, which is where Monica’s from.

Admittedly, Lynch’s character has been described as another US Air Force pilot and close friend of Carol’s, and while this would definitely be a revamp of Monica’s relationship with Captain Danvers from the source material, it would be still be a cool way to work her into the Captain Marvel storyline.

Either way, we’ll find out who she’s playing soon enough, as Brie Larson makes her MCU debut on March 8th.
