Are you ready for a Beach Boys musical? Fox 2000 is reportedly moving ahead with All Summer Long, having tapped The Vow helmer Michael Sucsy to sit in the director’s chair on the project, and now we’re hearing that English model-turned-actress Cara Delevingne is in talks for the lead role of Caroline.
Further plot details are being kept under wraps, but Fox 2000 paid $2 million to buy the pitch by Susannah Grant, along with rights to the Beach Boys catalog. All Summer Long is reportedly a 1960s California-set story inspired by the band’s music.
After breaking out as a model for Victoria’s Secret, Burberry and DKNY, Delevingne successfully managed to transition into acting with a small role in Joe Wright’s Anna Karenina. Since then, she’s been keeping busy with a number of high-profile parts.
In the can, Delevingne has mystery thriller London Fields with Johnny Depp, Theo James and Amber Heard; Michael Winterbottom drama The Face of an Angel with Kate Beckinsale and Daniel Brühl; drama Kids in Love with Will Poulter; and Justin Chadwick’s period romance Tulip Fever with Dane DeHaan, Christoph Waltz, Matthew Morrison, Alicia Vikander, Jack O’Connell, Judi Dench and Zach Galifianakis. And up next, the actress is shooting a small role in Joe Wright’s Peter Pan origin tale Pan.
