Deadline is reporting that Channing Tatum is looking to take on a major role in The Hateful Eight, Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming film. Shooting is set to get underway in early 2015 and already, the Western epic has a cast that boasts Samuel L. Jackson, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Michael Madsen, Bruce Dern, Kurt Russell and Tim Roth.

For those unfamiliar with the film, its plot is set in Wyoming a few years after the Civil War, and focuses on “the tension among a group of people trapped after a blizzard diverts a stagecoach from its route. The group includes a competing pair of bounty hunters, a renegade Confederate soldier and a female prisoner (Leigh) in a saloon.”

No word yet on which role Tatum would play, but we’ll keep you posted once we hear more.
