As Iron Man 3 inches ever closer to a theatre near you, the inevitable marketing campaign continues to whet our appetites. Today, we’ve been granted four brand spanking new photos, one of which gives us our first view of Rebecca Hall, who looks as though she might’ve made an ill-judged decision to go up against Tony Stark in his Iron Man suit or something. Look at her on the ground: all stunned and helpless and beaten. What have you gone and done, you silly girl?
Hall’s character is rumored to be a scientist involved in the Xtremist project, though nobody is sure yet as to where exactly her loyalties lie. Along with a picture of Hall, there’s also one of the Iron Patriot suit, an image of Tony Stark looking serious (though the film will not be that serious, according to Marvel’s Kevin Feige), and another glimpse of the battered Iron Man helmet, suggesting Ben Kingsley’s Mandarin is gonna whoop Tony’s ass. For anybody who’s been living in a cave these past few months, here’s the plot synopsis:
Marvel’s “Iron Man 3” pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy’s hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man?
