Chloe Grace Moretz Being Eyed To Play Catwoman In The Batman

From where I’m sitting, The Batman is shaping up to be the cinematic equivalent of comic books such as The Long Halloween and Dark Victory. The reason I’m saying that is because all signs point toward Matt Reeves’ upcoming blockbuster containing more villains than we’re used to seeing in a single film headlined by the Caped Crusader.

To briefly bring you up to speed, it was recently reported that Penguin, Riddler, Catwoman and Firefly will be there to greet us upon our next trip to Gotham City. In addition to that fearsome foursome, it’s worth pointing out how Mad Hatter and Two-Face are also said to be joining the party.

For now, though, let’s focus on Catwoman, shall we?

Needless to say, the hunt for the next Selina Kyle may become as heated as the casting process for the Dark Knight himself. As you know, she’s been around for nearly as long, and has been played by a variety of wonderful actresses over the years as well.

According to our source, Chloe Grace Moretz is among those being considered for the coveted gig. Though she’s accomplished great things since starring in the Kick-Ass flicks, you’d have to think her prior work in the genre is helping get her foot in the door. Hey, if she was that badass in her formative years, think of what she could do now.

Of course, some folks will bring up her current age, that being 22. Robert Pattinson may be 33 himself, sure, but Selina’s often portrayed as being in her early to mid-twenties in the comics, with Bruce Wayne often being around his late twenties to early thirties. In my opinion, there’s enough wiggle room for both talents in that regard.

The Batman arrives in theaters on June 25th, 2021.
