Chris Evans Wants To Make A Buddy Comedy With Chris Hemsworth

While Chris Evans might be done with the MCU, it looks like he wouldn't mind teaming up with everyone's favorite Asgardian for another film.

While they will always be remembered as the men behind Captain America and Thor, it looks like Chris Evans and Hemsworth are looking to broaden their horizons, at least when it comes to their careers. At the end of Avengers: EndgameSteve Rogers officially handed the torch off to Sam Wilson, and even though some fans speculate that he’ll return for Loki’s spinoff show, for now, it seems Evans has officially ended his tenure with the MCU.

On the other hand, Hemsworth’s future is more up in the air. Recently, he went on record to say he’d be willing to play the legendary Asgardian for as long as Marvel lets him, and even though he was originally underwhelmed by his character, that seems to have turned around since the release of Thor: Ragnarok. Still, while he might be willing to continue working with the House of Mouse, there’s no word on a fourth film in the series. It could a long wait before we see Hemsworth wielding Stormbreaker once more then, but in the meantime, it looks like Chris Evans is keen on the two collaborating on something else entirely.

As ComicBook.com reports, the two actors became good friends when they worked on the first Avengers film, so much so that they’ve been banned from going on press tours together. Needless to say, it seems the pair have good chemistry, and Evans has gone on record to say that he’d like to star in a buddy comedy with Hemsworth in the future.

“We had too much fun together, and truly like kids in school, we were separated because we couldn’t get shit done,” Evans said in his regards to his relationship with Hemsworth. “I would love to do one of those ’80s buddy comedies, where we could shed the characters we are known for.”

Understandably, it looks like Evans is keen on breaking free from the mold of his Marvel character, and we can’t necessarily blame him. Personally, we’d love to see the two Chrises team up together for a buddy comedy, and if Hollywood ever decides to reboot Lethal Weapon, you’ll know who’d be getting our votes to star as the film’s leads.
