Chris Pratt Brings The Hype For Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2, Runtime Revealed

Leave it to Chris Pratt to hype the hell out of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, right? Not that the sequel needs anymore attention, mind you. Marvel's marketing campaign has been extensive and quite enjoyable, and at this point, just about everyone knows that those A-holes are set to return in May with a film that's bigger and quite possibly better than what came before. But just in case, you know, you had any doubts about that, Mr. Pratt is here to remedy things.

Taking to Facebook earlier today, the actor delivered a rant in which he teased fans with what he calls “the greatest movie in the history of movies,” before going on to tell us that “there has never been and will never again be a movie like this.” Still not doing the trick for you? Check out his full post below and see if there’s enough hype in there to get you into the theatre on opening day.

“On May 5th the greatest movie in the history of movies is coming. There has never been and will never again be a movie like this. Seriously. Ever heard of Citizen Kane? We’re much better. Seriously. Our movie just tested at over one million points. Rotten tomatoes already has it at 234% fresh. #GotGVol2 will win every movie award AND about 39 Olympic gold medals in swimming, gymnastics, the skiiing event with the gun, x games, snowmobiling and everything. It will win the World Cup and about 7 super bowl rings, sorry TOM Brady.

This movie will fry your brains and lift your spirits. James Gunn will be elected president of the world. They will add the faces of the guardians to Mount Rushmore for sure. We’re gonna get a planet. May 5th will become a national holiday. Everyone will get pregnant. Candy will fall from the sky. Global warming will stop. Dinosaurs will come back to life. Which unlike some movies might tell you, is actually a really good thing. Because they won’t flip out and kill people instead they’ll be your awesome pets. So basically get your tickets as soon as you can. Don’t be the only person on the planet who doesn’t see this movie.

Humbly, Starlord”

Obviously the actor is just having a bit of fun here, as he tends to do, but this Facebook post has certainly done its job, amping up the excitement for the sequel even more – if that was even possible. In case you haven’t heard, test scores are through the roof and analysts are predicting that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 could have one of the biggest openings of all-time. As such, you’d be wise to do what Pratt says and “get your tickets as soon as you can.”

In related news, the film’s runtime has been confirmed today and it’ll clock in at 137 minutes. That’s pretty standard as far as Marvel films go if not a bit on the long side. In fact, James Gunn’s sequel will be the MCU’s fourth-longest movie to date, but given that the studio has always been pretty good at pacing and keeping the action up throughout, sitting in the theater for 2 plus hours shouldn’t be any problem at all.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 makes its debut on May 5th, and if Pratt’s words are to be believed, we’re in for one hell of a good time. Get ready, folks.
