Clark Gregg Hopeful For Reunion Between Avengers And Agent Coulson

Few could have predicted that, after dying at the hands of Loki in Joss Whedon’s Avengers, that the cult following surrounding Clark Gregg’s beloved Agent Coulson would lead to him becoming a permanent fixture on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D..

Having brought a wry humor to several Marvel films before his eventual demise in Whedon’s superhero ensemble, the demand for Coulson to make a triumphant return was palpable, and recently Gregg himself spoke with Digital Spy about the possibility of his character making the jump from TV to film in order to reunite with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

Such a reunion would naturally require some creative workaround if Coulson is really to spend more time ogling his star-spangled hero Captain America, though Gregg conceded that even if the Powers That Be at Marvel decide to bring together the characters once more, it would likely be in the form of a crossover on the small screen.

Per Digital Spy:

“I think it was important [early on] to establish that that’s not what the show is. It’s really up to the people at Marvel. Literally all of [the Avengers actors], at different times in different interviews – have been really generous about wanting to be part of it. I hope that seems like the right thing to do at some point.”

Coulson lives, but will we ever see him reunite with the Avengers on screen? Or would it be fan service run amok? Let us know your own thoughts down below.
