New Clip And Images From Jason Bateman’s Bad Words

For too long now, Jason Bateman has been one of Hollywood's most under-appreciated talents. It's a shame, too, because he's a brilliant actor and plays the straight man better than anyone else in the business. Thankfully, recent years have been kind to Bateman, giving him a rise in profile and a boost in fame. Now, he's readying up to release his directorial debut Bad Words, and if early reviews are any indication, we're in for quite a treat.

For too long now, Jason Bateman has been one of Hollywood’s most under-appreciated talents. It’s a shame, too, because he’s a brilliant actor and plays the straight man better than anyone else in the business. Thankfully, recent years have been kind to Bateman, giving him a rise in profile and a boost in fame. Now, he’s readying up to release his directorial debut Bad Words, and if early reviews are any indication, we’re in for quite a treat.

Bateman stars in the film as a man named Guy Trilby, “a 40-year-old who exploits a loophole to compete in a national spelling bee competition. Guy has a larger motive than just winning, but his mean-spirited nature allows him to berate and humiliate kids along the way.”

After making an impressive debut at TIFF, the film was picked up by Focus Features and is now gearing up for its March 21st release date. With under two months to go until it hits theatres, the marketing machine is kicking into gear and today we have for you one new clip and several new photos from the film. Unfortunately, nothing seen here matches up to the absolutely hilarious red band trailer we got a while back (which had me in stitches), but it’s still great to see more of what is undoubtedly one of my most anticipated films of the year.

Bad Words co-stars Kathryn Hahn, Allison Janney, Ben Falcone and Philip Baker Hall. It will be showing at SXSW (which we’ll be attending) and will head to theatres on March 21st. Check out the new promotional material below and let us know what you think in the comments section.
