Colin Trevorrow Says Jurassic Park IV Exists But Nothing Else

I feel like we've been talking about Jurassic Park IV longer than the Jurassic period actually lasted. There have been plot rumors popping up online and one or two photos, but that's about all director Colin Trevorrow has seen fit to tell us about this somewhat anticipated sequel to the franchise. And guess what, everyone? He's STILL not going to tell us anything.

I feel like we’ve been talking about Jurassic Park IV longer than the Jurassic period actually lasted. There have been plot rumors popping up online and one or two photos, but that’s about all director Colin Trevorrow has seen fit to tell us about this somewhat anticipated sequel to the franchise. And guess what, everyone? He’s STILL not going to tell us anything.

Maybe I’m being a little unfair to Trevorrow. In speaking to Jurassic Cast (via Bleeding Cool), he did say one or two things that indicated that Jurassic Park IV was totally a part of the Jurassic Park franchise.

Here’s what he told them:

It’s important to make a movie for the fans. But I also have to remember that there’s a lot of people who just couldn’t care less and need me to make a solid case for why the hell there’s a Jurassic Park 4 in the first place and I want to make a movie for them too.

He then went on to discuss what his favorite dinosaur was:

What is my favourite dinosaur? We have a new one that’s pretty cool. I’m not going to tell you anything about it, but… it’s pretty bad ass. I think Jack Horner said something about that too.

This guy doesn’t want to tell us anything! Even his personal preferences are obscure.

Trevorrow did take a moment to destroy some internet rumors, though, which was nice:

I saw some of the rumours on the internet and I would have all kinds of red flags going off if I heard they were going to muzzle a T-Rex. So I would say don’t believe everything you read, there are way more insiders on the internet than there are in real life.

So, never fear! The T-Rex will stay big and mean and toothy, just as nature intended.

If you think that Trevorrow could possibly say less about Jurassic Park IV, think again! He also says that he loves the music of John Williams. Does this mean that Williams will be back scoring the film? Of course not, he didn’t say that and he will neither confirm nor deny such outlandish statements.

There you have it: Trevorrow has told us exactly nothing about Jurassic Park IV and you can’t make him! Perhaps we’ll learn more about the film when it begins production later in 2014. A release date has been set for sometime in 2015, but even that has not been solidified.

We do know that the film has a script, that it will be shot in 3D and that Steven Spielberg is acting as producer. Beyond that, we’ll just have to wait for further news and rumors to slowly trickle out.
