Daredevil Cancelled

Daredevil May Show Up In Either Spider-Man 3 Or Doctor Strange 2

Despite being arguably the most acclaimed Marvel TV show around, Daredevil was cancelled after three seasons last November, thanks to some corporate clashes between Netflix and Marvel. Fans have never stopped campaigning for its return ever since though, with there being hopes that Hulu or FX might renew the series. While we await confirmation for the Man Without Fear's future on the small screen, though, there is a chance that he might make the leap to the big screen in a few years' time.

We Got This Covered has been told that Daredevil could be on his way to the movie side of the MCU. Our source informs us that Marvel has every intention of bringing the Defenders into the franchise. They’ve yet to decide on the best course of action, but the current thinking is that the characters will be introduced into the films here and there until they’re all on board. In other words, don’t expect a big Defenders team-up, but the aim is definitely to get them all into the MCU.

Specifically, the New York-based movies will be the key to allowing these street-level heroes to appear. We’ve heard that Spider-Man 3 and Doctor Strange 2 are two likely contenders to have a cameo or guest spot from one of the Defenders and as he’s the most popular of the group, Matt Murdock will be one of the first to show up. As such, it looks like we can expect to see DD in one of those two aforementioned films.

Of those movies, Spider-Man 3 would make the most sense, as Spidey and Daredevil have a long history of team-ups in the comics. Plus, it could also allow for Vincent D’Onofrio to stop by as Kingpin as well. As exciting as this all sounds right now, though, remember that Marvel won’t get the rights back to the Defenders for another two years. Still, from what we’re hearing, Daredevil and co. will make it into the MCU eventually and we can’t wait to see where they appear.
