Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is arriving on December 16th, and Disney wants to make sure you know it. The studio has been on a marketing frenzy over the past few weeks, bombarding us with promos, TV spots, photos, posters and more. Now, to add to the ever-growing hype train, Entertainment Weekly has blown the lid off their Rogue One coverage with a massive batch of images that, among other things, showcase the iconic Darth Vader looming large.

Following up on Empire’s cover story from last week, EW’s feature dives headfirst into Gareth Edwards’ upcoming Anthology film, and these new photos show off quite a bit. The most exciting shots are the ones of Vader, of course, but almost everyone gets their chance to shine here, with images dedicated to Ben Mendelsohn’s Orson Krennic, Felicity Jones’ Jyn Erso, Riz Ahmed’s Bodi Rock and more.

Speaking to EW about the film’s villains, Kiri Hart, head of story development over at Lucasfilm, had the following to say:

“Here is the thing about Krennic: his perspective obviously is that of a person who doesn’t understand the Force. And Darth Vader comes at everything from the perspective of understanding the Force. So that I think is the thing that you see sort of separating Darth Vader from other characters with regards to a super weapon like this.”

“There are military men who are interested in a really effective piece of military hardware, and Darth Vader is a little bit beyond that, right? He’s tapped into something on another level, on a spiritual level. So, that’s part of the fun of Vader in the context of the Imperial Military. He’s got a broader perspective.”

Rogue One is set to be big. So big, in fact, that Paramount and Marvel have both decided to ride on its coattails, choosing to premiere the trailers for Transformers: The Last Knight and Spider-Man: Homecoming, respectively, in front of it since they know the movie will be receiving a ton of attention in theatres. Disney may not be expecting it to make as much at the box office as The Force Awakens did, but don’t fool yourself, this film is going to be making quite a splash when it touches down next month.

As we enter the final stretch before Rogue One: A Star Wars Story arrives, you can expect a lot more promotional material to arrive on the web. For now, though, take a look through the gallery above and let us know in the comments section what your hopes for the flick are. Have you been put off by those troubling reshoot rumors, or do you still have faith in it?
