Dave Chappelle Is Bringing Three New Stand-Up Specials To Netflix

Netflix is becoming a pretty hot place for comedians to bring their stand-up specials to. The streaming service is already home to some of the funniest comedy out there, and not too long ago, they landed a huge deal for two new efforts from Chris Rock. Now, the company is expanding their portfolio once again by announcing that Dave Chapelle will be bringing them three new stand-up specials.

This deal couldn’t have come at a better time, as the comedian is in the midst of a pretty big comeback. As you’ll no doubt know, he took an extended break from the world of comedy over a decade ago, returning only to make a few rare appearances here and there over the years. However, after hosting what many are calling one of Saturday Night Live‘s best episodes in some time, he’s back in full force it seems. From what we understand about this deal, it’ll comprise of one brand new special and two previously recorded ones that have never been made available to the public. They’ll all drop in 2017 and expectations are certainly high. After all, some of Chappelle’s previous stand-up work is considered by most to be amongst the best the genre has ever seen – a sentiment we completely agree with. The man is brilliant when it comes to comedy and as his recent SNL outing proved, he’s still got it.

Exact release dates for the upcoming specials haven’t been announced just yet, but we can expect to hear further details early in the new year. Until then, be sure to keep an eye out for more from Dave Chappelle, as he’s in the midst of a rather impressive comeback and it doesn’t look like he’ll be slowing down any time soon.
