Colossus Actor Stefan Kapicic Has Nothing But Praise For Josh Brolin’s Cable Ahead Of Deadpool 2

Deadpool 2 was one of the more notable absentees from San Diego Comic-Con, that much we know, but over the past few days, a slew of exciting trinkets have trickled online pertaining to David Leitch’s anti-hero sequel.

Just yesterday, for instance, we learned that Colossus, a long-time frenemy of the Merc’s, will actually enjoy an expanded role in the 2018 actioner, and that’s despite Stefan Kapicic’s steely mutant competing for screen time against a number of high-profile newcomers. On the topic of Deadpool 2‘s new recruits, Leitch recently offered up some context regarding his approach to the time-travelling Cable and his convoluted origin story, while adapting Domino for the big screen naturally presents some challenges of its own. It seems David Leitch and his VFX team are up to the task, though, after the director promised some “really great” content revolving around Zazie Beetz’s kick-ass mutant.

Of the two, Josh Brolin’s casting as Cable has attracted a metric ton of buzz in recent weeks, after Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld publically endorsed the Avengers: Infinity War actor as the one-eyed mercenary. He’s not the only one to shower praise on Brolin, though, after Stefan Kapicic told that Brolin will be “perfect” in Deadpool 2.

Shifting gears from the Mad Titan to Nathan Summers, Josh Brolin landed the coveted role earlier this year, beating out a number of high-profile competitors such as Pierce Brosnan, Kyle Chandler, Stephen Lang (Avatar), Michael Shannon, Keira Knightley, and soon-to-be Hellboy actor David Harbour.

And for very good reason, according to Kapicic:

Josh Brolin is the perfect cast for Cable. His face, his attitude, his acting. That guy is such an amazing actor. I can totally see him and I think that Fox did a great choice in casting him as Cable. I was talking with Rob Liefeld and so he’s really happy because that’s the face that he created. It’s so beautiful that we have Josh Brolin.

Sandwiched in between New Mutants and Simon Kinberg’s X-Men: Dark Phoenix, Deadpool 2 has been slated for June 1st, 2018, and it’ll seemingly be funnier than the first.
