Deadpool 2 Star Josh Brolin Throws Shade At Ryan Reynolds Over Ad Campaign

Ryan Reynolds may have a reputation for trolling his fellow actors, but in the last week, the Deadpool 2 lead has taken a lot more ridicule than he’s given out, with Josh Brolin being among the latest to take some shots at his co-star for his new ad campaign with Aviation Gin.

Earlier this year, Reynolds bought a significant stake in the gin company, so it only follows that he’s now serving as the face of the brand, but according to his onscreen frenemy Brolin, Aviation would do a lot better to find someone else to sell their product. In a recent Instagram video, the Avengers: Endgame star shows a poster featuring Reynolds on the side of a truck, before commenting:

“His face looks like it was attacked by a beaver. Thought he was married.”

In the accompanying message, Brolin addresses Aviation directly with some constructive criticism:

“Merry Christmas @aviationgin. Might think about getting a cleaner face for your product. Just a thought.”

This has proven to be quite the holiday season for Marvel actors trolling Reynolds. Just a few days ago, for instance, the star shared some photos of himself looking gloomy in an embarrassingly tacky Christmas outfit next to Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal. In the caption, Reynolds clarifies that he was tricked into thinking that he was attending a sweater party.

In the days since, the image of the actor staring into space while the stars of Logan and Spider-Man: Far From Home stand there laughing has quickly attained meme status, with Endgame directors Anthony and Joe Russo even using the photo to symbolize their love of trolling the fans.

But while the Deadpool actor may be the butt of all the jokes right now, you can expect to see him back on irreverent form with the upcoming X-Force movie. In the meantime, you can catch Brolin in a separate Marvel universe when Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26th, 2019.
