With pre-production on Tim Miller’s upcoming Deadpool standalone film in full swing, a casting call sheet has been uncovered on the Casting 24/7 website. Listed under the codename “WHAM” – which has already been revealed to be the film’s working title – a handful of character profiles detail the requirements for potential actors. Similarly to its fake production title, all of the characters names have been switched to mask their true identities.

Here’s the full report:

[RIDGE] Any ethnicity, early 30s to early 50s. Big, muscular, dangerous, violent, vain, insecure and more than a bit of a dick…. but with a sense of humor. He is not a psychopath, he’s practical but morally neutral—he doesn’t enjoy torturing people, he just doesn’t care. ROLE REQUIRES THREE SEQUEL OPTIONS.
[LINDSAY] Any ethnicity, 20s, attractive and worldly. Smart, tough, beautiful but a little bit broken. Nothing has ever been easy for her and she’s developed a thick skin and cynical outlook. But she’s not a victim—she may not have a great life but she’s holding it together and does what she needs to get by. She’s got a great sense of humor but it leans heavily towards irony and sarcasm. ROLE REQUIRES THREE SEQUEL OPTIONS.
[SIMON] Any ethnicity, late 20s to early 40s. Quirky, great sense of humor. Smart, funny, but more than a little bit slippery. Fast talker, always looking to make a buck. He looks out for himself first and foremost, but reveals loyalty at the end of the day. ROLE REQUIRES THREE SEQUEL OPTIONS
[SHIRLIE] African American, late 60s to early 80s. Worldly, great sense of comedic timing, sarcastic, dry, funny. ROLE REQUIRES THREE SERIES OPTIONS.
[KATHY] Any ethnicity, early to mid teens. World weary, great sense of comedic timing, sarcastic, droll sense of humor. ROLE REQUIRES THREE SERIES OPTIONS.
[KEREN] Any ethnicity, early 20s to late 30s. Serious, big, tough. ROLE REQUIRES THREE SERIES OPTIONS
[ALBERT] Any ethnicity, early 30s to early 50s. Big, muscular, dangerous. ROLE REQUIRES THREE SERIES OPTIONS

First up, the adjectives used to describe ‘Ridge’ suggest that he’s most likely the movie’s main antagonist and a while back, Game Of Thrones‘ Ed Skrein was mentioned in connection with that part. The ‘Lindsay’ persona is expected to be played by one of five actresses on a shortlist that was reported last week, including Morena Baccarin and Taylor Schilling. In all likelihood ‘Simon’ will be Wade Wilson’s quippy sidekick, who will be tackled by T.J. Miller, and ‘Keren’ could certainly be a pseudonym for the recently-announced Gina Carano’s Angel Dust character.

Granted, all of this is speculation for now, and without further casting announcements, it’s unknown who is set to portray the remaining three characters mentioned. However, after the info hit the web yesterday, The Wrap’s Jeff Sneider tweeted: “FYI, TJ Miller and Ed Skrein are playing “Simon” and “Ridge” in DEADPOOL, whoever those characters may actually be…” That tidbit aligns with previous reports suggesting that the two actors would be playing the comedy sidekick and villain roles, respectively.

Elsewhere on the Deadpool front, talk has turned to Daniel Cudmore’s potential return to the Fox universe to reprise the role of Colossus. Hidden in the report that Carano had bagged a role was a tiny sentence alluding to Colossus’ return, who, it seems won’t be portrayed by Cudmore. Following on from the fan chatter, the actor took to Twitter to set the record straight:

With Cudmore officially off the radar for Deadpool, there’ll no doubt be plenty of suggestions emerging as to which actor should nab the role. Who do you think should play Colossus? Let us know in the comments below!
