Avengers: Infinity War may be the talk of the town, but when it came down to hilarity this year, your friendly neighbourhood mercenary Deadpool was the bee’s knees. And what with the proposed acquisition of 21st Century Fox by The Walt Disney Company currently mired in an utmost precarious state, who knows, we might even see Wade Wilson drag his trademark irreverence kicking and screaming into the MCU? But that’s a discussion for another time.

Having confirmed the existence of Deadpool 2: The Super Duper Cut – which will be available on Blu-Ray and DVD August 21st – the Merc has subsequently farmed out his home release to retailers, who’ve unveiled everything from a super-stylish steelbook to a raunchy children’s book in an attempt to obtain the business of memorabilia hunters. Officially the third Marvel movie to gross more than $300 million stateside in 2018, Deadpool 2 went on to eclipse $700 million worldwide, thereby becoming the third highest-grossing R-rated movie of all-time, in spite of some serious talk regarding franchise fatigue. Although apparently, the massive success of his sequel doesn’t have titular star Ryan Reynolds too keen on a threequel. Should that change, though, we’ll be sure to let you know.
