Promoting The Accountant last week (which seems to be a bit of a misfire), Ben Affleck and Anna Kendrick took park in an amusing skit for MTV (see above) which saw the latter dress up as Robin and ask The Batman star and director for a role in the highly anticipated release. While the whole thing may have been a joke, it’s since taken on a life of its own on social media.

As it turns out, a lot of comic book fans would love to see Kendrick play Robin, and now, Joe Manganiello (who’s going to play Deathstroke in the film) has added some fuel to the fire by sharing the Instagram post seen below. While this should by no means be taken as confirmation that the Pitch Perfect star is going to play the character, it’s certainly pretty interesting, and it’s hard not to wonder whether Affleck could be considering reuniting with his co-star from The Accountant. If Kendrick were to land the role, she would presumably be playing the Carrie Kelly or Stephanie Brown version or Robin.

The Batman doesn’t have a release date as of right now, and Affleck recently confirmed that they’re still working on the script, so it’s entirely possible that Robin could be added if she wasn’t already in there. We’ll just have to wait and see if that happens, but there’s no doubt that nabbing an actress like Kendrick would be a big win for both Warner Bros. and The Batman.
