Since before production even kicked off on Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, there were rumors that The Flash (Ezra Miller) would be making a cameo appearance in the movie to set up the Justice League. Earlier today, that was finally confirmed once and for all, and now we have some intriguing new details on how DC’s Fastest Man Alive will be making his big screen debut.

According to EW, this story utilizes more than one dream/nightmare sequence for both the Man of Steel and The Dark Knight, and it’s during one of the latter’s “visions” that Barry Allen shows up to deliver a “cryptic message”:

Synder calls this “a giant Easter egg” that he hopes will spawn plenty of online theories. “We had such a straightforward narrative, on one hand, I wanted this other layer of the movie to be complicated and bizarre,” he says.

Remember, The Flash could well be using the Speed Force to infiltrate Batman’s subconscious and warn him about future events (the coming of Darkseid, perhaps?), so this may be much more than just a dream.

One of the first rumors relating to The Flash’s cameo claimed he was glimpsed briefly on the security camera of a convenience store – so as vague as these details seem now, fans should be pleased that his actual introduction to the DCEU is slightly more substantial.

Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice hits theaters on March 25.
