Here’s How David Tennant Could Look As The Riddler In The Batman

The man behind the Tenth Doctor and Kilgrave has been reimagined as the Riddler, thanks to a new piece of fan art for The Batman.

While we’re still largely in the dark with regards to Matt Reeves’ The Batman, we do have a couple of concrete details to go off of. After several weeks of speculation and reports from unnamed sources, Warner Bros. eventually confirmed that Twilight star Robert Pattinson would be taking on the role of the Caped Crusader.

It’s all we have in terms of official announcements, but we’ve also heard rumors that Batman will be facing off against Penguin, Riddler, Catwoman, and Firefly. Similarly, a handful of other websites began reporting that both Two-Face and the Mad Hatter would be joining the fray, confirming some rumors we’d heard for ourselves. Even though we’re not entirely sure just which villains will be brawling with Bruce Wayne yet, plenty of talented artists have taken it upon themselves to come up with their own creations, and one, in particular, has used a familiar face as a starting point.

Admittedly, we didn’t really think of David Tennant (star of Good Omens and Doctor Who) when it came to casting, but on second thought, he’d make for a really great Riddler. After all, his ability to pull off dark, angry characters (such as Jessica Jones’ Kilgrave) has already been proven, and considering Edward Nygma’s twisted sense of humor, Tennant would make a good fit. In fact, we’re clearly not the only ones who feel that way, seeing as how a different Instagram artist has already done something similar with another piece of fan art.

Personally, we’d love to see David joining the DCEU as a villain, and though we haven’t heard anything about it happening just yet, we’ll be sure to share any official casting information for The Batman as announcements are made, so stay tuned.
