Doctor Who Star Karen Gillan Joins Guardians Of The Galaxy

I'm still not sure whether or not Guardians of the Galaxy will turn out to be a good film but what I am sure of is that at the very least, the cast will be interesting to watch. We have Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Glenn Close and John C. Reilly all attached. That's a very diverse and talented list of people and watching them interact together is something that I'm definitely looking forward to.

I’m still not sure whether or not Guardians of the Galaxy will turn out to be a good film but what I am sure of is that at the very least, the cast will be interesting to watch. We have Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Glenn Close and John C. Reilly all attached. That’s a very diverse and talented list of people and watching them interact together is something that I’m definitely looking forward to.

Now, we can add one more name to that list as Karen Gillan, best known for her role on Doctor Who as Amy Pond, has been cast in the James Gunn-directed film. We’re not sure who she’ll play but apparently she’ll be the primary female villain. What’s interesting about this is that another Doctor Who star, David Tennant, was also attached to the project at one point, though we’re not sure what’s happening with that as it was never confirmed.

The Hollywood Reporter broke the news but unfortunately, we don’t have any further details at this point. All we know is that Gillan will indeed be in the film and she will play the primary female villain. As to which villain she’ll play, let the guessing game begin.

Guardians of the Galaxy opens August 1st, 2014. What do you think of Karen Gillan joining the cast? Who do you think she’ll play? Let us know in the comments below.
