Does Barry Allen die in ‘The Flash?’

Did Barry Allen pay the price of his actions with his life?

The Flash is DC’s next installment based on the Synderverse DCEU, starring Ezra Miller as the Flash. This action-packed movie is based on the Flashpoint story arc, where Barry changes the future due to his attempts to save his mother. However, his actions lead to me far more serious consequences.

Due to Barry’s time-traveling meddling, this young superhero has to face the consequences of his own actions. But does that mean that will pay the cost of his actions with his own life? After all, DC Studios have announced major recasts since James Gunn and Peter Safran took over. Not to mention, Miller’s future in the DCU looks questionable at best due to the various mixed messages surrounding the actor and their controversies.

Is The Flash the end for Barry Allen?

In exchange for saving his mother, Barry not only loses his powers during the film’s second act but also led to the deaths of his superhero friends, Batman and Supergirl. At the same time, the Barry from the alternate timeline doesn’t want the original Barry to go back in time to kill their mother. Barry had to use alternate methods to get his powers back, especially if he wants to help join the fight against Zod and his army.

Later, he confronts a future version of the alternate Barry, who’s unable to save this timeline by preventing Zod from killing Supergirl and terraforming the Earth. Fortunately, Barry’s life was saved thanks to the sacrifice of his alternate self, giving the original Barry a final chance to undo everything he’s done.

Barry was able to return to his timeline safe and sound, after making one minor change he believed wouldn’t alter predetermined events. And while he’s still able to live his life, his actions still had some consequences. At least this time, it didn’t cost him his life.
