The Star Wars: Episode VII rumours won’t end. They just won’t. No matter how badly you want them to go away, you’re just not going to get your wish. Every actor imaginable is being asked about his/her involvement with the film and despite what they say, a rumour will undoubtedly start.
So, on that note, let’s tell you why people now think that Dominic Monaghan, best known for playing Charlie on Lost as well as taking on the role of Merry in The Lord of the Rings trilogy, is going to appear in the film.
The actor was at the premiere of The Lone Ranger the other day and Desde Hollywood decided to ask him about his involvement in the upcoming Star Wars film.
Here’s what Monaghan had to say:
“Well, I can’t answer that question. Ask J.J. Abrams. He’ll know.”
Not very definitive but Bleeding Cool points out that the actor’s head movement reveals a bit more, leading them to believe that he may indeed be starring in the upcoming Star Wars flick. I know, it’s a major stretch but make of it what you will.
Personally, I don’t think that any of this means anything. I mean sure, the actor already has a connection to Abrams, having worked on Lost, and he’s had experience with major film franchises before. But still, this is a huge stretch and I don’t think we can really take anything substantial away from his head movements or his words.
Don’t get me wrong, I think Monaghan is a fine actor and wouldn’t be opposed to him taking a role in the upcoming film, I just don’t think that we have any proof of it yet.
Check out the video and decide for yourself whether or not you think Dominic Monaghan will be appearing in Star Wars: Episode VII.
