Dr. Harleen Quinzel Roars Through The Streets Of Toronto In New Suicide Squad Set Photos

One quick glance at the star-studded cast list and you'd fooled into thinking that Margot Robbie's rendition of moral-doctor-turned-psychopath Harley Quinn had a minor role in the ensemble piece, but judging by the hoard of images surfacing from the Toronto set of David Ayer's Suicide Squad, the Wolf of Wall Street starlet may prove instrumental in the grand scheme of things - and not just because the actress has signed a multi-picture deal.

One quick glance at the star-studded cast list and you’d fooled into thinking that Margot Robbie’s rendition of moral-doctor-turned-psychopath Harley Quinn had a minor role in the ensemble piece. But judging by the hoard of images surfacing from the Toronto set of David Ayer’s Suicide Squad, the Wolf of Wall Street starlet may prove instrumental in the grand scheme of things – and not just because the actress has signed a multi-picture deal.

Not only have we seen the actress in full costume as Harley Quinn – replete with baseball bat and menacing glare – but last week’s barrage of stills highlighted her dysfunctional relationship with the Joker, Jared Leto’s equally bonkers street criminal. That said, these latest screenshots appear to be from an earlier segment in Ayer’s picture, with Robbie sporting normal clothes as Dr. Harleen Quinzel. Depending how loyal Suicide Squad remains to the source material, it’s likely that Quinn will fall in love with the Joker and his demented fascination with The Caped Crusader.

Speaking of which, Ben Affleck’s Batman and his trusty vehicular companion have been spied numerous times on the Toronto set by now, with The Dark Knight in pursuit of both The Joker and Harley Quinn in a plot point that may or may not dovetail with Zack Snyder’s Dawn of Justice.

All will be revealed when Suicide Squad makes its bow on August 5, 2016. Joining Affleck, Leto and Robbie for the villain-centric tale are Will Smith (Deadshot), Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flag), Jai Courtney (Boomerang), Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Killer Croc), Raymond Olubawale (King Shark), model-cum-actress Cara Delevingne (The Enchantress).
