Though we didn’t get a new Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer yesterday at Disney’s D23 convention, there was plenty of other news to get fans hyped for our long-awaited return to the galaxy far, far away.  We had our first Rogue One cast photo, an announcement that Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow would be taking the helm on the yet to be titled Episode IX, and this gorgeous poster (seen below) from the legendary Drew Struzan.

The poster was handed out to all D23 attendees and hasn’t actually been officially released online yet, but we’ve managed to find a pretty clear version in the meantime. As you can see, it features Daisy Ridley as Rey, a masked Adam Driver as Kylo Ren, Harrison Ford as Han Solo, and John Boyega as Finn, who just so happens to be wielding a lightsaber!

This is a pretty big reveal, as it’s our first indication that the character might be force sensitive. Of course, you don’t necessarily have to be a Jedi to sport a lightsaber, but it could be telling that it’s Finn and not Rey – who many assumed was going to be the next generation Jedi – that’s holding it in the picture.

Also starring Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, Kenny Baker,  Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Gwendoline Christie, Lupita Nyong’o and Max von Sydow, Star Wars: The Force Awakens is set to be released on December 18th, 2015.
