Given that Infinity War saw the death of half of all life in the universe, it’s pretty tough to imagine how next year’s Avengers 4 could escalate the conflict from here. The Russo Brothers are clearly planning to make this MCU Phase 3 finale even bigger than what came before, though. That much is apparent.
Last week, a piece of promo art leaked online that gave us a look at some sweet new armor for Rocket and Thor. But while that would be revelation enough for one slightly blurry image, the accompanying text has since been examined by fans and they found this intriguing little teaser hidden within it:
The Asgardian Thor wields the mighty Stormbreaker in his battle against new foes. Rocket teams up with a new crew to guard the galaxy from an even greater threat.
Of course, there’s some debate to be had here over how big of a deal the “new foes” part of this text is, but rest assured that there will certainly be some pretty dangerous threats for our heroes to face. Just ask Elizabeth Olsen.
Speaking to the crowd today at ACE Comic Con, the actress teased those in attendance by saying that “it’s only going to get worse” in Avengers 4. It’s unclear if she was referring to just Scarlet Witch or the entire gang, but we imagine it’s the latter. Like we said above, half of our heroes have been turned to dust and it’s clearly not going to be an easy task to bring them all back. Not to mention they’ll also have to deal with whatever else the Mad Titan has planned.
Regardless of what ends up happening, there are many different paths that Marvel Studios could take with Avengers 4, but unfortunately, we probably won’t uncover the secrets of the film until it hits theaters on May 3rd, 2019.
