Though the upcoming Avengers: Endgame looks set to juggle an overwhelming number of familiar figures, many of these characters are still being kept officially under wraps, leaving it to the fans and theorists to offer their best guesses on who from the MCU’s eleven-year history is likely to make an appearance. At the same time, there are quite a few characters that we can already feel confident in saying will have some part to play in Marvel’s Phase 3 finale, and in a new article from ComicBook.com, fourteen such names are listed.
To get some of the really obvious entries out the way, the entire Phase 1 Avengers line-up of Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow, Bruce Banner, Thor and Hawkeye will all be returning to the fray. Moreover, though Thanos ended Avengers: Infinity War happy to rest and watch the sun rise on a grateful universe, it’s clear that he too has at least one more movie ahead of him. And speaking of Infinity War, having survived the events of last year’s release, Rocket, Nebula and War Machine will also be coming back for the sequel.
Meanwhile, it’s already been confirmed that Endgame will be the last major outing for Pepper Potts, and only the second MCU appearance for Captain Marvel, the latter of whom looks to be a key player in turning the tide against the Mad Titan. Then, of course, you have Ant-Man, who was left with his own personal cliffhanger to resolve at the end of Ant-Man and the Wasp. Lastly, there’s Valkyrie from Thor: Ragnarok, who’s yet to show up in any promotional footage, but whose comeback by now has an undeniable amount of evidence behind it.
So, that’s the fourteen we know of, and you could arguably add a few more characters to that list, but we’ll only know the full cast once Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26th, 2019.
