We’re currently in the midst one of the biggest weeks in the history of Marvel promotion, which started with the new Captain Marvel trailer dropping on Monday and continued today with the long-awaited arrival of the first Avengers: Endgame teaser. Though the fans are still reeling from this one-two punch, you may want to save some of your energy for the release of the Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer, which ComicBook.com is now reporting will drop at some point between 1:00 pm and 3:00pm Central Time tomorrow.
This grand unveiling will come to us as part of the film’s showcase at this weekend’s Comic Con Experience in Brazil. The São Paulo-based event has already yielded our first up-close and official look at Peter Parker’s black stealth suit, which we’d previously only seen in leaked set photos from the production’s European stretch. Actor Jake Gyllenhaal, meanwhile, took to Instagram for the very first time earlier this week to tease his role as the villainous Mysterio in advance of the first batch of footage.
When this teaser does hit, it’ll be interesting to see how much enthusiasm it can earn from the fans so soon after Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame dropped their respective trailers. While Spider-Man is as popular a character as ever, it’s tempting to view Far From Home as the Ant-Man and the Wasp of 2019 Marvel flicks. That is to say, it’s looking like the fun, relatively ‘minor’ entry that comes in the wake of a hotly anticipated solo debut (Black Panther/Captain Marvel) and a world-dominating Avengers movie (Infinity War/Endgame).
If that’s what Sony and Marvel have planned for us, then that’ll do most fans just fine, though as the first entry in the MCU’s Phase 4, maybe Spider-Man: Far From Home will turn out to be a surprisingly big deal for the wider saga when it hits theaters on July 5th, 2019. For now, let’s just wait and see what tone the trailer sets.
