It’s been one heck of a week for fans of the DC Extended Universe. First, Warner Bros. released a series of character posters and teasers before a brand new trailer uniting the Justice League found its way online yesterday morning. However, there was someone conspicuous by their absence.

Chances are Superman is the first person who sprung to mind after you read that sentence, but a fan-made teaser has already provided some insight into what exactly the Man of Steel’s been up to. Instead, we’re referring to the other missing hero: Hal Jordan, a.k.a. Green Lantern.

Of course, the character is expected to appear in Green Lantern Corps, but in the comics, he too was a founding member of the League. Why he’s been left on the shelf here then is hard to say, though it could have something to do with how poorly received his 2011 solo outing was.

Either way, a new fan-made poster has surfaced today featuring fan-favourite choice Armie Hammer suited up as Green Lantern in a piece of art which follows the same theme as the posters for the likes of Batman and Aquaman. It’s really rather well done and will no doubt impress, but sadly, it’s just not something we’re likely to see actually happen in Justice League.

Hammer could don the ring one day, there’s no doubt about that, and we already know that a member of the Green Lantern Corps will most likely show up in Justice League, but for the time being, Hal remains on the shelf, and likely will for a little while longer.
