Finn’s Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker Love Interest Has Been Revealed

As the fight against the First Order rages on, the young leads of the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy haven’t found a lot of time for love, though the films have certainly hinted at a romance or two blossoming. For one thing, The Last Jedi saw some sparks fly between Finn and Rose, and according to a new report from Making Star Wars, the upcoming Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will have the pair take their relationship to the next level.

The outlet relays word from sources that Kelly Marie Tran’s character will be Finn’s love interest in the Sequel Trilogy finale. While it’s unclear if the two of them are an outright couple from the get go, MSW was apparently told that Rose will give Finn “something to fight for” in the ongoing war.

So far, the team at Lusasfilm has kept tight-lipped on the matter of Finn’s love life. At this month’s Star Wars Celebration, for example, actor John Boyega managed to dance around the subject, joking that the character is currently part of a “love pentagon” but is “single and willing to mingle.” Meanwhile, when Tran was asked if she and Boyega might have another romantic exchange in this year’s release, she simply commented, “All I’ll say is Finn is a very eligible bachelor.”

Still, it must be said that MSW has a respectable track record for Star Wars intel, and if what they’ve heard is true, then the news may come as a disappointment to those who were shipping Finn and Rey. And since Daisy Ridley isn’t too keen on the idea of a Rey/Kylo Ren romance, it’s starting to look very likely that Rey, much like her mentor Luke before her, is going to end her trilogy single.

Regardless, you can expect the gang to have far more urgent matters on their mind when Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hits theaters on December 20th.
