Big news for all the gamers and horror fans. And it’s not just production updates that were revealed today. New cast members have also been announced for the upcoming horror film.

Blumhouse CEO and film producer Jason Blum shared an update for the anticipated horror flick on Twitter. He posted a photo of a clapper board seen on monitors, with a caption that reads “DAY 1 #FNAF.” Images of some of the sets can be seen but none of them look like a pizzeria. If you look closely at the photo, a small statue of a white rabbit can be seen mounted in between the screens.

But it’s not just filming and production updates. Remember the white rabbit that was mentioned? That may be a clue on who may be appearing in the upcoming film. A few more actors have been added to the Five Nights at Freddy‘s IMDB page, with their roles revealed. ABC’s Once Upon a Time Elizabeth Lail has been confirmed to appear in the film and will be playing the role of Vanessa.

According to the Five Nights at Freddy‘s video games, Vanessa is a night guard at the Freddy Fazbear’s Mega Pizzaplex and first appeared in Five Nights at Freddy’s Security Breach. It was also theorized that Vanessa’s alter-ego is Vanny, the white rabbit that appeared in the photo. So could it be that the film might have some influence from FNAF’s recent entry? Only time will tell.

Also confirmed to take part in the film’s production are NCIS‘s Mary Stuart Masterson as an unnamed “female villain,” Grey’s Anatomy’s Jophielle Love as “ghost kid #5,” Pam & Tommy‘s Lucas Grant as Garrett, and Piper Rubio as Abby.

The Five Nights at Freddy’s movie was first announced in 2015 after the video game of the same name reached massive success since its release back in 2014. The film was supposed to be produced by Warner Bros but the film rights were moved to Blumhouse in 2017. Scooby-Doo‘s Matthew Lillard and The Hunger Games‘ Josh Hutcherson will star in the film as William Afton and Mike Schmidt, two characters that were mentioned constantly throughout the game’s franchise.

It’s currently unknown what the plot of the film will be. But IMDb stated that more likely going to follow the games since it will be about a night guard who learns that it won’t be easy surviving the night at the pizzeria.

A release date for the upcoming horror flick has not yet been announced.
