Ghostbusters is back! The original and best movie is 35-years-old this year and to mark the occasion, Fathom Events are bringing the film back into theaters on October 6th and 10th. But this won’t be just any old screening of a classic movie. The pic will be screened together with a new introduction that brings together key members of the cast, who’ll reminisce on their experiences of working on the project.

In addition, the screenings will also contain some alternative takes. I reckon chances are good that these are the takes Jason Reitman discovered when putting together Ghostbusters 3. He recently showcased a couple of them to some extremely happy Ghostbusters fans, and there’s word that they include the legendary Fort Detmerring scene. You can see a brief shot of it during a montage in the theatrical cut, but this was part of a longer sequence that was considered lost until recently.

These screenings will take place at 600 movie theaters across the nation, with tickets available at the Fathom Events website and at participating box offices. If you haven’t seen Ghostbusters on the big screen, it’s a seriously good time at the cinema, even though you may get sat next to a diehard superfan who annoyingly insists on reciting every single line of dialogue along with the characters.

Fathom Events Vice President of Studio Relations Tom Lucas had this to say about the screenings:

Ghostbusters is a comedy legend and a movie legend, a movie whose immediate success has been followed by decades of fervent fan appreciation. There’s never been a comedy quite like it, and maybe never will be again, and Fathom Events is delighted to bring Ghostbusters back to the big screen for longtime fans to enjoy again and new audiences to discover for the first time.”

With Ghostbusters 3 looking like it’ll be a love letter to the original, there couldn’t be a better time to reacquaint yourself with New York’s finest paranormal investigation unit. So be sure to hit the link below and grab your tickets.
