New Godzilla Images Released Ahead Of The Trailer

Though the marketing push for Warner Bros.' Godzilla has been oddly quiet, it seems that things are about to pick up for the upcoming Gareth Edwards film. Yesterday saw the release of some viral videos that definitely whet our appetite and today sees several new images making their way onto the web. Though the marketing push for Warner Bros.’ Godzilla has been oddly quiet, it seems that things are about to pick up for the upcoming Gareth Edwards film. Yesterday saw the release of some viral videos that definitely whet our appetite and today sees several new images making their way onto the web. Of course, this all comes in advance of the first trailer, which will drop this afternoon.

The images don’t reveal too much, but it’s still nice to get a look at stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Bryan Cranston in the film. There’s also a shot of the titular monster himself, which is pretty cool. Obviously, the trailer is going to show off a whole lot more than what’s on display here, but it’s still a welcome tease for what is undoubtedly one of 2014’s most anticipated flicks.

With a cast that also includes Elizabeth Olsen, Juliette Binoche, Sally Hawkins, Ken Watanabe, and David Strathairn, and Mr. Gareth Edwards behind the camera, it’s difficult to see too much going wrong with this one. After all, the director certainly proved himself with his debut Monsters, and a project like Godzilla seems right up his alley. A solid feature film outing for the famed monster has been a long time coming and I think that Warner Bros.’ upcoming reboot might finally deliver on that front.

Godzilla opens on May 16, 2014. Check out the images below and be sure to return later today for the first trailer as we’ll have it here for your viewing pleasure.
