It’s All Guns And No Control On This New Free Fire Poster

Coming out of the Toronto International Film Festival, one of the hottest flicks was no doubt Ben Wheatley's Free Fire, a wild shoot 'em up that stars Brie Larson, Cillian Murphy, Jack Reynor, Armie Hammer and Sharlto Copley. Our very own Matt Donato had nothing but praise for it in his review, calling it a "relentless genre assault of bullets, laughs and personality, like a pseudo action movie that cranks intensity to 11 and rips off the knob."

That’s certainly an encouraging verdict, and one look at the trailer above leads us to believe that the film is worthy of all the positive reviews it’s been getting. Up until today though, a release date had always eluded Wheatley’s latest, but A24 has now rectified that by announcing that Free Fire will shoot its way into theatres nationwide on March 17th.

To celebrate the release date announcement, the distributor also unveiled a brand new poster, showing off the colorful characters with the tagline, “All Guns. No Control,” which is a pretty apt way to describe the events of the film, given what we know about it.

That’s because Free Fire shows us what happens when an arms deal goes wrong in a warehouse that’s full of guns. It’s a premise ripe for some good genre fun, and according to those who’ve seen it, that’s exactly what Wheatley gives us here. The entire cast look to be enjoying themselves (going off the trailer above) and if there’s anyone who can take this premise and really run with it, it’s Ben Wheatley. Those who’ve seen his earlier work will know that.

So, there you have it. You’ll finally be able to check out Free Fire for yourself on March 17th, and if the early reviews are to be believed, you’re in for one hell of a good time.
