Harrison Ford On Why He’s Ready To Return For Indiana Jones 5

Last but certainly not least we have Indy, the fast-talking archaeologist that will, despite many rumors to the contrary, return to the silver screen in 2019 for Indiana Jones 5. It's a role that Ford himself is excited for, and he recently touched base on the sequel's announcement while appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Han Solo, Rick Deckard and Indiana Jones – three iconic characters all played by Harrison Ford, and it’s three roles he has and will return to over the next few years. Late last year, Star Wars: The Force Awakens welcomed back Ford’s roguish smuggler, while Warner’s long-gestating Blade Runner 2 has set sights on an early 2018 release.

Remaining as wry and guarded as ever, Ford stated simply that “it’s fun, it’s great fun to play this character. It’s great fun to work with Steven, I’m looking forward to it.”

Back in the saddle for the fifth time is series stalwart Steven Spielberg, directing from a script that will be produced by long-term screenwriting partner, David Koepp. Of their many collaborations – see The Lost World: Jurassic Park and War of the Worlds – it is Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull that sticks out like a sore thumb, though it’s worth keeping in mind that the sequel’s script experienced more than its fair share of creative changes before Crystal Skull premiered. Let’s reserve judgement for a little while longer, shall we?

Indiana Jones 5 will herald the return of Harrison Ford’s grizzled archeologist on July 19, 2019.
