Harrison Ford’s MCU debut could be coming with a major promotion for ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross

He doesn't really play small parts at this stage.

For a franchise that deals with an awful lot of internal and external politics in-canon, the president of the United States hasn’t really factored into the grand scheme of the Marvel Cinematic Universe all that often. William Sadler played Matthew Ellis on several occasions, while Dermot Mulroney is heavily speculated to take over the gig in Secret Invasion, but it sounds as though it won’t be for long.

Harrison Ford broke the internet when it was officially confirmed he’d be replacing the late William Hurt as Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross in Captain America: New World Order, with the original incumbent of the role having ascended from the military ranks to become the secretary of defense when his eight-year exile was ended in Civil War.

However, the latest rumor to be sweeping the internet claiming to offer up the character description for the Indiana Jones and Star Wars icon’s spin on the role offers that Ford will be getting presidential once more, presumably with a little less intensity and ass-kicking than we saw in action classic Air Force One.

“The former Lieutenant General of the United States Army and Secretary of State, now President of the United States. Using radiation siphoned transformed Ross into the Red Hulk.”

Red Hulk is also mentioned, so if the scuttlebutt turns out to be completely accurate (which we absolutely cannot guarantee), the holder of the highest office in the land will moonlight as a gamma-radiated CGI monstrosity with a penchant for smashing everything in its path. Sounds fun, and it would certainly be one way for Ford to make his mark on not just New World Order, but the entire MCU.
