Hawkeye Saves Everyone In Fan-Made Avengers: Infinity War Alternate Ending

For once, things did not end well for our heroes in Avengers: Infinity War as they actually failed to stop the bad guy, with Thanos managing to pull off the dreaded finger snap that wiped out half of the universe. It took the combined effort of the Avengers, the Guardians and multiple others, but still they lost. We all know who they really needed, of course: the one and only Hawkeye.

Jeremy Renner’s avenging archer was nowhere to be seen in Infinity War, apparently because he was still under house arrest for his part in the Sokovia Accords feud in Captain America: Civil War, but fans missed him quite a bit. So much so, in fact, that one individual has created this hilarious alternate ending for the movie which corrects history and has Clint Barton arrive at the last minute to save the day.

As you can see, the edit makes up for Thor’s fatal mistake of going for Thanos’ torso rather than his head by having Hawkeye finish the job (via footage from The Avengers). It’s so nicely done in fact, complete with Alan Silvestri’s theme, that you have to admit it’d have been a great punch-the-air moment if we genuinely saw it in the cinema. The only thing that would have made it better is if Ant-Man was on the arrow.

That said, Hawkeye’s set for his long-awaited return in Avengers 4. Seeing as he didn’t actually turn up to shoot an arrow through Thanos’ brains, the Clint we meet in the movie may well be a changed man, as it’s rumored that the snap may have had tragic consequences for him. At the very least, he’ll have got himself a fetching new mohawk haircut.

Who knows, though, maybe Hawkeye will pull this off for real at the end of Avengers 4, getting the honor of disposing of Thanos for good and putting to bed all those jokes about him being the weakest hero. Come on Russos, you know that would be a kickass ending.
