See Godzilla In All His Glory In New TV Spot

There's been no shortage of promotion for Gareth Edwards' Godzilla, with plenty of trailers and TV spots to get fans excited for the monster movie. The one thing that's been missing from the footage, however, has been the monster itself, or at least a solid look at it. Every glimpse so far was either a passing glance or shrouded by smoke, but that all changes today with Warner Bros.' newest TV spot.

There’s been no shortage of promotion for Gareth Edwards’ Godzilla, with plenty of trailers and TV spots to get fans excited for the monster movie. The one thing that’s been missing from the footage, however, has been the monster itself, or at least a solid look at it. Every glimpse so far was either a passing glance or shrouded by smoke, but that all changes today with Warner Bros.’ newest TV spot.

It starts off like many of the other trailers from the film, by focusing on the human element, with plenty of emotional and tearful shots. It isn’t until the very end of the 30 seconds that it gets really good though, as we get our first clear look at the monster and hear it let out its famous, fierce roar.

Truthfully, I was enjoying the mystery created by not seeing the monster, and a part of me hoped that was going to be carried out through the end of the promotion. That being said, I can’t complain with the footage we get today, as Godzilla looks absolutely terrifying. The roar isn’t half bad, either.

Godzilla stars Bryan Cranston, Juliette Binoche, Elizabeth Olsen, David Strathairn, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Sally Hawkins and Ken Watanabe. The film stomps into theaters on May 16th.
