Hellraiser: Judgment Finally Has A Release Date

When any actor has embodied an iconic character for an extended period, it's only understandable that fans sometimes have a difficult time adjusting to their successors. Even in the case of a vastly talented performer like Jackie Earle Haley, there were many who just couldn't accept someone playing Freddy Krueger other than Robert Englund. Likewise, we ask for no tears, please, regarding the third actor to play Pinhead - it's a waste of good suffering.

When any actor has embodied an iconic character for an extended period of time, it’s only understandable that fans sometimes have difficulty adjusting to their successors. Even in the case of a vastly talented performer like Jackie Earle Haley, there were many who just couldn’t accept someone playing Freddy Krueger other than Robert Englund. Likewise, we ask for no tears, please, regarding the third actor to play Pinhead – it’s a waste of good suffering.

As you may or may not know, Paul T. Taylor has been hired to portray the most recognizable of all Cenobites in the upcoming Hellraiser: Judgment, which happens to be the tenth installment in the franchise that originated in the mind of the one and only Clive Barker. This time, though, it’s a returning Gary J. Tunnicliffe, director of 2011’s Revelations, who’ll be taking us from the pinnacle to the pit.

For the historic tenth outing, Tunnicliffe and his team have conjured up a three-fold story involving three detectives – namely Sean Carter, David Carter, and Christine Egerton – as they begin to uncover a threat of “otherworldy proportions.” Looks like Pinhead is up to his old tricks again.

Casting-wise, the docket has been filled by Paul T. Taylor, Heather Langenkamp, Damon Carney, Randy Wayne, Alexandra Harris, Rheagan Wallace, John Gulagher, Mike Jay Regan, Diane Goldner, Andi Powers, Jeff Fenter, Helena Grace Donald, and Grace Montie. It’s a solid roster of talent by anyone’s standards, and now, we know when we can expect to see those individuals bring the latest installment in the franchise to life.

That’s because an Amazon listing has revealed that Hellraiser: Judgment will hit Blu-ray on February 13th, 2018 and furthermore, it’s already available to pre-order. Granted, that date hasn’t been confirmed by the studio just yet, but there’s no reason to doubt it – the film has been a long time coming, after all – and for now, we’ll operate under the assumption that we’ll be jumping back into this beloved franchise early next year.
