Last week, The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that Angelina Jolie is in talks to star in Chloe Zhao’s The Eternals. And while the report stopped short of saying who she might play, the popular prediction is that she’s on course to be the MCU’s Sersi.

If that’s the case, then the Oscar-winner may end up looking a fair bit like this new piece of fan art from BossLogic, which shows the Olympian emitting a green light from her hands to match her eyes. It’s a pretty striking image, though we’ve still got well over a year to wait before we can compare it to the real thing. In the meantime, a recent report indicates that filming on The Eternals is scheduled to begin this September, meaning that we’ll hopefully get a lot more casting news in the coming months.

In particular, it would be nice to get some confirmation on the prominent rumor that Marvel is aiming to cast its first gay lead for the movie, possibly in the role of Hercules. While Marvel Studios has stayed tight-lipped on this particular bit of hearsay, producer Kevin Feige, executive vice president of production Victoria Alonso and even Avengers: Endgame co-director Joe Russo have all hinted in the past month that the MCU’s first LGBT superhero will be arriving very soon.

In any case, while plot details on The Eternals remain vague, THR relayed word that the movie will include a “love story between Ikaris, a man fueled by cosmic energy, and Sersi, who relishes moving amongst humans.” It’s not much to go on, but there’ll be plenty of time to learn more before the film completes its journey to theaters, which is expected to happen in November, 2020.
