Hugh Jackman in Logan, The Wolverine and X-Men Origins

Here’s How Keanu Reeves Could Look As The Next Wolverine

Having watched Hugh Jackman spend movie after movie making the Wolverine character his own, some fans would probably see it as an act of sacrilege if the character was recast, but now that the X-Men property is seemingly on the verge of a fresh start under Marvel Studios, it’s surely less a question of if we’ll be getting a new Logan, but rather when, and more importantly, who.

As it turns out, there’s already one major star who’s throwing his hat into the ring, if only casually, and that’s Keanu Reeves, with the actor recently saying that he’d “love to play Wolverine,” even valuing the role over the part of Batman. And regardless of whether you think this combination would work, Reeves’ statement has evidently fired up the imagination of the fans, including artist BossLogic, who’s now shared a striking image of the John Wick star as the adamantium-clawed mutant.

It’s certainly a departure from the usual look of the character, with Reeves’ relatively skinny frame standing in contrast to Jackman’s beefy physique, but even if he doesn’t look quite right for Wolverine, it’s still a pretty cool design in its own right.

As it stands, Reeves already has a perfectly good action series of his own going, with the actor set to star opposite X-Men alumnus Halle Berry in next year’s John Wick 3: Parabellum. That trilogy-closing work is set for release on May 17th, 2019, before the Marvel-Fox saga soldiers on with X-Men: Dark Phoenix, which hits theaters on June 7th.

As for Wolverine, it remains unclear what Kevin Feige and his team’s plans are for the character, but sooner or later, fans will have to adjust to the idea of seeing a new Logan on our screens – whether they like it or not.
