The Dark Tower finally reaches the big screen next February, and ever since those first official images were revealed, fans have been wondering when footage from the movie will be released.
It’s been shooting for a while now, but it appears as we still have at least a couple of months to wait before getting a trailer. According to a programme for Entertainment Weekly’s upcoming PopFest event (a two day event held by the magazine in Los Angeles on October 29th and 30th), it will be there that the first footage from The Dark Tower is revealed.
Of course, that doesn’t necessarily mean it will be immediately released online, but chances are it will given how often bootlegs and the like find their way onto the web. EW made a point of highlighting The Dark Tower during this year’s Comic-Con – the film making the cover instead of an upcoming superhero movie was a definite surprise – so this premiere date does make sense.
Fans of the Stephen King series of novels have been waiting a very long time to see the adventures of Roland Deschain brought to life in live-action, and anticipation is at an all-time high as a result. While the movie being a sequel has of sorts to the books has divided opinion, Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey leading the cast of The Dark Tower certainly has everyone excited. As such, we’ll definitely be counting down the days until we can finally feast our eyes on that first bit of footage.
