After getting glimpses of set photos and the film’s new Psycho-inspired poster, we finally have our first trailer for the upcoming Hitchcock. Starring Oscar-winner Anthony Hopkins as the immortal director and Oscar-winner Helen Mirren as the filmmaker’s wife and partner Alma Reville, the film looks very promising.

The trailer (below) looks pretty good, and is probably very disheartening for Oscar-wanter Toby Jones, who stars in HBO’s upcoming other behind-the-scenes Hitchcock movie, The Girl.

Directed by Sacha Gervasi (Anvil) and also starring Scarlett Johansson, Danny Huston, Toni Collette, Jessica Biel, Michael Stuhlbarg and James D’Arcy, Hitchcock details the making of the 1960 classic Psycho, based on the nonfiction book by Stephen Rebello.

Judging from the trailer, it looks like this movie is going to be a pretty dramatic account of the financial, critical, and censorship problems Hitch encountered while making his seminal yet controversial masterpiece. Even more intriguingly, the film seems to be focused around the director’s close connection to his wife and partner Alma, and the strain on their relationship created by the trials and tribulations of making Psycho.

Overall, this looks like it will be a fairly entertaining look at the movie business, and at Scarlett Johansson showering.
