Though trailers for The Great Gatsby, Les Miserables and Django Unchained have taken the Internet by storm over the last few weeks, some of award season’s lesser-known films still show promise to be as good as those bigger films, if not better.

You may start hearing a lot about Joe Wright‘s Anna Karenina when the cold sets in again, and we’ve got some quality snapshots thanks to Russian site Kinopoisk (via The Playlist).

Directed by Joe Wright (Atonement, The Soloist, Hanna), this adaptation of Leo Tolstoy‘s classic novel stars Keira Knightley, Jude Law, Aaron Johnson (KickAss) and Olivia Williams among others.

Wright’s version is being filmed entirely in an old rundown theater built specifically for the film. Acclaimed playwright and screenwriter Tom Stoppard (Shakespeare in Love) adapted the Russian aristocratic romance.

An early November release is scheduled for Anna Karenina, but The Playlist points out the film will likely be a centerpiece on the fall festival circuit.
